Northern Road Watch is a registered non-profit based in Northern Ontario. We collect and publish highway incident data for the public, local media, and anyone working to improve road safety in the region.

All incidents, closures, road conditions, traffic cameras, and plow positions from the MTO's authoritative highway feed.
Open-Meteo
Weather conditions at time of incident, including 4-hour precipitation history before each event.
Ontario GeoHub
Wildlife values and habitat data used to classify incidents by proximity to animal movement corridors.
CRTC Coverage Data
Roads with and without LTE coverage, used to flag incidents in unreliable cellular zones.
MTO AADT Data
2021 Annual Average Daily Traffic counts for 132 Northern Ontario highway segments, used to normalize accident rates.
CBC & Village Media
RSS feeds from CBC North and Village Media outlets, linked to recorded incidents for news context.
